TINTIN HARDBACK BOOK - The Crab With the Golden Claws

Tintin discovers opium-smugglers and their illegal ring, which leads him on a perilous journey to the scorching Sahara desert and a Moroccan port. Along the way, he stages a rescue and meets the temperamental Captain Haddock for the very first time. 

The plot kicks off when Detective Thomson and Thompson investigate a drowned sailor found with a scrap of paper that simply reads "Karaboudjan"  Tintin's investigation takes him to a ship called the Karaboudjan, where he uncovers that the crew is smuggling opium inside tins bearing a "crab with the golden claws" emblem 

While trapped on the ship, Tintin meets Captain Haddock, who is initially portrayed as a desperate, alcoholic sailor manipulated by his own treacherous crew  Together, Tintin and Haddock escape the ship, survive a harrowing plane crash, and trek across the Sahara  This book is a landmark in the series, as it establishes the beloved, lifelong friendship between the young reporter and the iconic, insult-slinging Captain
